Welcome to the Department of Mathematics at Central University of Jammu. The Department of Mathematics (supported by DST-FIST) is one among those that were established during the university’s inception in 2011 and has proved its excellence in a short period by transforming young students into competent and motivated professionals. The Department currently has eight (08) well-qualified and experienced permanent faculty members, who have so far published around 250 research papers in reputed national/international journals with high impact factors and have presented more than 50 research papers at national/international conferences.

The Department of Mathematics currently offers three programs: a 5-year Integrated (B.Sc.–M.Sc.) Mathematics, an M.Sc. (Mathematics), and a Ph.D. (Mathematics). The course schemes for these programs are designed as per the NEP-2020. The Department also supports the School of Engineering and other departments of the School of Basic and Applied Sciences as far as teaching is concerned. Moreover, the Department of Mathematics is supporting the recently started 4-year B. Tech. (Mathematics & Computing) program in terms of teaching. The Department has its own computer lab with 68 computers for UG/PG/Ph.D. lab-oriented courses. The faculty trains students with strong fundamentals of theoretical and practical knowledge in Mathematics. Mathematics is the mother of science and the backbone of knowledge enhancement for scientists and engineers. Keeping this in view, our focus is to produce good professionals, scientists, and engineers equipped with modern mathematical tools and a strong understanding of real-world problems. The Department strives to inculcate analytical, computing, and logical skills in future scientists, engineers, and researchers through outcome-based teaching-learning practices.
