Event: Udaan Technical Fest - Code Clash and Hack-A-Way

As part of the first-ever Udaan Tech Fest 2025 organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in collaboration with the Dean of Students' Welfare, two flagship events — CodeClash and Hack-A-Way — were successfully conducted on April 1st to 3rd, 2025, at the PMMM Building, marking a milestone in the university’s technical journey. These events were aimed at building a competitive technical culture among students, encouraging innovation, logical thinking, problem-solving, and cybersecurity awareness. Both events welcomed participation from within and outside the university and were structured in progressive rounds to test a diverse range of skills — from theoretical understanding to real-time implementation. CodeClash, a coding and problem-solving competition, began with a quiz round to assess foundational programming knowledge, followed by two intense coding rounds. It offered participants the opportunity to showcase their algorithmic thinking and coding efficiency under time constraints, ultimately motivating students to embrace coding as a culture.
Hack-A-Way, on the other hand, was a cybersecurity-focused event centered around ethical hacking, digital defense, and real-world exploitation simulations. It featured a theoretical quiz and hands-on rounds, including web exploitation and Capture the Flag (CTF) challenges, encouraging participants to practice responsible and practical cybersecurity techniques.
Both events saw an overwhelming response and active engagement from participants, judges, coordinators, and volunteers. The organizing team, led by faculty convenors and student coordinators, ensured smooth execution, fairness in evaluation, and enriching experiences for everyone involved. From registrations to reporting, from timed competitions to impactful learning — the events were a powerful step toward building a robust technical ecosystem at Central University of Jammu.
Participants not only competed but also collaborated, learned, and showcased their skills with enthusiasm. The events concluded with formal prize distributions, certificates of participation, and a strong call to continue this momentum through annual contests, workshops, CTF clubs, and wider university-level collaborations in the future. CodeClash and Hack-A-Way have set a new benchmark and represent just the beginning of what promises to be a long and impactful tradition of innovation, competition, and technical excellence under the banner of Udaan
