Event: E-Yantra Robotics Lab Inauguration

The School of Engineering, Central University of Jammu (CUJ), in collaboration with IIT Bombay, has launched an e-Yantra Lab Setup, which includes IoT Embedded Systems and Robotics training through IIT Bombay e-Yantra MOOC Certification. As part of this initiative, IIT Bombay selected and trained B.Tech students from CUJ, equipping them with essential skills in Embedded Systems and Robotics.
Six B.Tech students—Ajitesh Sharma, Ayush Modi, Osho Raj, Samarth Prashar, Shreya Rai, and Sundram Kumar Ray—successfully completed the eLSI: Embedded Systems and Robotics training under the mentorship of Prof. Kavi Arya from IIT Bombay. Notably, Sundram Kumar Ray (B.Tech CSE, 4th Semester) earned an outstanding grade for his exceptional performance in the training.
The state-of-the-art infrastructure at CUJ was pivotal to the success of this program. As part of the collaboration, IIT Bombay also provided robotics kits containing sensors, IoT devices, and other cutting-edge technologies, enriching the hands-on learning experience for CUJ students.
In addition to the training, the collaboration led to the inauguration of the eLSI: Embedded Systems and Robotics Lab at CUJ on February 14, 2025, as part of the e-Yantra Lab Setup Initiative. This landmark event was held under the visionary leadership of Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of CUJ, who has been instrumental in fostering such collaborations to enhance the institution's educational offerings.
The event was coordinated by Prof. Yashwant Singh, Registrar, CUJ, and Prof. Rakesh Jha, HoD, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Prof. Dinesh Kumar, HoD Computer Science and Engineering, along with the e-Yantra team, including Dr. Neerendra Kumar (team leader), Dr. Palak Mahajan, Dr. Harnain Kour, and Dr. Priyank Sharma. Faculty members from the Computer Science & Engineering, Computer Science & IT, and Electronics & Communication Engineering departments were also present.
In his address, Prof. Yashwant Singh, Registrar, CUJ, highlighted the growing importance of Industry 5.0 and the critical need for courses in Embedded Systems, Robotics, IoT, and AI. He emphasized the need to prepare students for the rapidly evolving technological landscape, equipping them with the skills necessary to succeed in future industries.
On behalf of the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, the Registrar, CUJ expressed sincere gratitude to Prof. Shubha Pandit and her team from IIT Bombay for their invaluable support in establishing the eLSI Lab and facilitating the eLSI: Embedded Systems and Robotics training at CUJ. This collaboration marks a key milestone in CUJ's ongoing commitment to excellence in technical education and research.
