Event: Five Day FDP (online mode) organized by the Department of Mathematics from 01-05 December 2025.


The Department of Mathematics, Central University of Jammu, is organising a five-day online Faculty Development Program (FDP) titled “Mathematical Computations and Applications” from December 1 to December 5, 2025. The program aimed to enhance the research and computational skills of faculty members, researchers, and advanced learners by introducing them to modern mathematical tools, techniques, and software used in scientific investigations and real-world applications.
For this FDP, we have received approx. 140 participants involving Faculty members, Research scholars /students from the various IITs, NITs, Universities and Colleges across the country.
The inaugural session commenced with the welcome remarks by the Convener, Prof. Kamlesh Kumar (Head of the Department). He expressed his gratitude to honourable vice chancellor, Prof. Sanjev Jain for giving the opportunity to organise this online FDP. Prof. Kumar expressed his gratitude to the Chairperson, Prof. Uday Pratap Singh and Patron, Prof. Vinay Kumar of the FDP. He highlighted that the FDP is designed for the Mathematical Computations and its Applications in different areas of Mathematics and Statistics, Computer Science Engineering etc. and it is relevant to research work and academic needs.
Following the inaugural address, Dr. Km. Deepa, member of the organizing team, formally initiated the sessions. They welcomed the distinguished first speaker, Prof. Madhu Jain, Department of Mathematics, IIT Roorkee. Prof. Jain delivered an insightful lecture on “Applied Stochastic Modelling and Optimal Design Policy for Fault Tolerant Systems”
The second session began with Dr. Sulekha Rani welcoming the next resource person, Prof. C. K. Jaggi, Senior Professor, Department of Operational Research, University of Delhi and discussed “A Data-driven Framework for Optimizing Humanitarian and Retail Supply Chains through Sustainable Models”.
