One week Workshop on eSuruksha begins

The Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, Central University of Jammu, in collaboration with C-DAC Mohali is organising one week workshop from December 10-14, 2018 on the topic "e-Suruksha" under the aegis of the project on Information Security Education and Awareness (ISEA), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Govt. of India. The workshop was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Prof. Ashok Aima, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu on 10th December, 2018 in the University main campus. In his presidential remarks, Prof. Ashok Aima stressed upon the need of imparting training on the contemporary technologies to counter the cyber war in the world. Further, addressing the audience, he urged the students of Department of Computer Science and IT to contribute in development of Application software for various sections of the University.  He encouraged the participants to learn as much as possible from this type of short term programmes and also congratulated the team of computer science and IT Department for organising this event. The inaugural ceremony of the workshop started with welcome address by Dr. Yashwant Singh, Head of Department, Computer Science and IT.

He informed the audience about the objective and importance of the tools required for cyber security in modern era of computing. Prof. Devanand, Dean Basic and Applied Sciences, in his remarks said that this workshop on the topic of Network/Web Security will be highly beneficial for the participants. The list of resource persons for the workshop includes Mr. Akhil Goyal, Mr. Harpreet Singh and Mr. Chetan Soni, the leading practitioners from C-DAC, Mohali. More than 40 participants from various government institutions are registered and participating in the workshop. The organising committee of the workshop includes faculty members of the Department Dr. Arvind Selwal, Dr. Bhavna Arora, Dr. Deepti Malhotra and Dr. Neerendera Kumar. The inaugural function was convened by Ms.Pooja Anand, Research Scholar and the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Bhavna Arora, Assistant Professor.
