CUJ Deptt  of Education celebrates International Environment Day

 On the occasion of World Environment Day, the Department of Educational Studies, Central University of Jammu has celebrated World Environment Day 2021 by virtual mode under the patronage of Vice chancellor, Prof. Ashok Aima and Head Department of Educational Studies, Dr. J.N. Baliya and other faculty members . The event was actually organized with an aim to spread worldwide awareness about the protection of Environment.

While speaking on this occasion, Prof. Ashok Aima, VC, CUJ said that we should raise awareness towards positive Environmental actions in order to protect the mother nature earth. He further remarked that Central University of Jammu has always been concerned about environment and thus, organized various eco-friendly activities all across the year in the campus. He also quoted one beautiful line in his address that is “Ann posh Teli, jeli vann posh” which means we will only have food in future if we will protect our trees and environment. All the faculty members, students and research scholars of the department have actively participated in the event. Earlier to this, Dr. J. N. Baliya, Head, Department of Educational Studies, CUJ welcomed each and every one and addressed all the participants with his insight that the rate of consumption from the Earth is higher than the rate with which the Earth replenishes, so we have to use each and everything very delicately and preciously in the environment.

Besides this, Students from M.Ed. and Integrated B.A.- B.Ed. programme organized series of activities which included poem recitation related to Environment, speech, song and games on the theme Environment and its protection as well as online video had also shown on Environment pollution. The whole event was moderated by Deepak Dubey and  students from the Department  including Kavya, Prerna, Nikhil,Sachin, participated in the programme. At last, all the faculty members also shared their views in the event and appreciated the efforts of all the participants through the virtual celebration which has helped in creating awareness among students regarding nature, Environment and the need for protecting Environment. The programme was coordinated by Dr Ritu Bakshi ,Dr Syed Zahara and witnessed by Dr Kiran, Dr Aman and Dr Asit Mantry.
