Refresher course on Research Methodology Concluds at CUJ

The Capacity Building Programme on Research Methodology for Social Sciences Faculty Members sponsored by Indian Council for Social Sciences Research (ICSSR), concluded at CUJ here today.
The valedictory function was attended by various dignitaries including Prof. Girishwar Mishra, Vice Chancellor, Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya (MGAHV) Wardha, Maharashtra, faculty members and research scholars. Prof . Mishra, presented a synoptic view of qualitative research methodology and explained its relevance in social sciences. Speaking on the occasion, Prof.Ashok Aima,VC CUJ, in his presidential remarks apprised the audience about the various initiatives taken by Central University of Jammu for the growth and development of faculty, scholars and the students and further encouraged the faculty members for organizing such programmes which help in growth and development of faculty members and also enhance and groom their research aptitude. He announced that 2.5 crores has been sanctioned by, Ministry of Skill Development, Govt. of India for organizing capacity building programmes on entrepreneurship development.


Earlier in her welcome address, Dr. Jaya Bhasin, Head, Deptt. Of HRM & OB and TTM, elaborated upon the conduct of the programme by presenting a detailed report wherein she informed that in all 84 sessions were conducted by 18 faculty members who had expertise in various research areas.


The sessions included topics based on qualitative research, quantitative research, various softwares like N VIVO, e views, SPSS, Mendley, EndNote, Turnitin, AMOS and R. Some of the prominent faculty members who took sessions included Prof. Prabhakar, Chennai University ,Prof. Manu Mittal, JNU, Prof. Manorma Tripathi, JNU, Prof. Dinesh Sharma, IIT Mumbai, Prof. Saurabh Aggarwal, IIT Kanpur, Mr. Shankar, IBM, Prof. Hardeep Chahal, Prof Dipankar Sen Gupta and Prof. J. P .Singh Joorel , Jammu University, Dr. Manish Sharma, SKUAST Jammu, Dr. Suparn Sharma, Dr. Pabitra Kumar Jeena and Dr. Kakali from SMVDU. Prof Ashok Aima, VC CUJ and Prof. Lokesh Verma, Academic Coordinator, CUJ also delivered sessions during the programme. In all 50 participants attended the workshop. The participants provided an excellent feedback about the programme. Also present on the occasion were Prof. S. K.Sharma and Prof. Govind Singh.
