Nurturing World Class Organizations in an Emerging Global Diaspora

School of Business Studies, Central University of Jammu under the patronship of Honourable Vice Chancellor Prof Ashok Aima organized a unique event HRD Congress with the theme “Nurturing World Class Organizations in an Emerging Global Diaspora” at Convention Centre, Jammu which was formally inaugurated today by Sh. Naeem Akhter, Hon’ble Minister of Education, J&K Govt who was the Chief Guest while Smt. Priya Sethi, Hon’ble Minister of State for Education, J&K Govt was Guest of Honour in the said congress. HRD Congress would provide Industry- Academia Interface to build future leaders for the Indian and Global market. This event intends to focus on the contemporary issues to enable academia, industrty, corporate, HR students, scholars and other professionals to understand and appreciate the intrinsic nuances about nuturing the world class organizations

Speaking on the occasion, Jenab Naeem Akhter said, “human resource is a subject of discussion in the changing world and focus should be on the development of human resource.” He said that if we restrict our human resource to only school and university level we cannot grow and it’s a time for all of us to look forward. He stressed that we have to relook our human resource policy which is very important in present context. He applauded the Vice Chancellor for organising such event and invited the Global CEO’s for holding such event in Srinagar in near future for ensuring placements of the youth from J&K.

Smt. Priya Sethi laid the emphasis on the human capital which implies the abilities, skill and technical know how among the population of the country. She said that major source of growth for a country will be made only by investing in human beings for carving best human resource.

Prof. Ashok Aima emphasized that there should be a vision to provide industry academia interface which will strengthen the placements opportunities for the students of the university globally. He said that this “HRD Congress” is an opportunity to engage in debate about how to adapt, innovate and be resilient at a time when digitization and sustainability have become prominent issues.

The Chairman of the HRD congress was Mr Suresh Tripathi, Vice President, HR Tata Steel and Co-Chairman of the congress was Mr. D. K. Bakshi, Chief Mentor & CEO Global Talent Company Ltd. Speaking on the occasion he reiterated the need for developing leadership in vogue of Volatile Uncertain Complex and Ambiguous world (VUCA). They assured that this event would strengthen the industry academia interface and build a foundation for the university in alignment with the future corporate world issues and need.

Prof Devanand, Dean, School of Business Studies and Prof Lokesh Verma, Academic Coordinator also spoke on the occasion. The Inaugural session of the congress started with lamp lighting and a welcome address by Prof. Ashok Aima, Honourable Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu. Dr. Jaya Bhasin, Head, HRM and TTM, School of Business Studies, Central University of Jammu delivered a formal vote of thanks which was followed by networking session.

The HRD congress shall be spread across 3 days of intensive industry- academia interactions, wherein the last day i.e.; 18th September shall be devoted to paper presentation by research scholars.

Chief Executive Officers, Vice Presidents, Managing Directors, Directors, Executive Directors and Country Heads from various renowned organizations such as Tata Steel, IBM, Polaris, Organic Wellness, Unicorn, Oracle, RBS, Bloomberg TV, Bhartiya Group, GBS, RGF India and many more were also present on this event. Teaching professionals and researchers from esteemed institutions made this event more insightful with their presence.
