Central University of Jammu Celebrates Azaadi 70

Central University of Jammu marks the 70th year of Independence by celebrating Azaadi 70 in which Mass recitation of National Anthem was made in which students, faculty members, non-teaching staff and officials of the University participated. This was followed by the visit of freedom fighter Sh. Sunit Singh who visited the campus, he is a resident of Bagla-rahya and was a part of India freedom movement which was led in the year 1941-1942. He joined the INA (Indian National Army) in 1941 and serve the INA for a period of 5 years. Sh Sunit Singh gave an inspirational lecture to the students. He was accompanied by the Sarpanch of the Rahya Sh. Khajoor Singh who gave the keynote address on the occasion.


Prof. Devanand (Dean Students Welfare) welcomed the august gathering . In the presidential address Prof. Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu emphasized that the individual must have the freedom of thought, the character of an individual lays the foundation of the nation. The function of Azaadi 70 was organized by the office of Dean Students Welfare and coordinated by Assistant Dean Students Welfare Dr. Gaurav Sehgal and Dr. Pankaj Mehta.


Dr. Shweta Kohli gave the formal vote of thanks and Ms.Prabhjot Kour compared the stage. All the heads of the Department, Deans of the School, Prof. Lokesh Verma, Academic Coordinator, Sh. Jit Singh Registrar and other University officials were also present on the occasion.
