Outstanding Participation of Central University Jammu in National Seminar on ‘Education of Disadvantaged Groups with Special Reference to Lower Socio-Economic Strata/SC/ST/OBC and Women Population

 

The teachers and students of Central University Jammu participated in a National Seminar organized by ‘Rajiv Gandhi Memorial College of Education’ in collaboration with ‘DIQA, University of Jammu’, on 13th & 14th May, 2016 on the theme cited above. The papers presented by scholars and students from different Departments of the University were specifically appreciated by Resource Persons and other delegates. Dr. Aman from Deptt. of Educational Studies was also one of the Resource Persons and chaired one technical session.

Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ashok Aima was the chief guest of the valedictory function of the seminar. In his address he emphasized the promotion of gender equality in the society, proper implementation of ‘Right to Education’ and skill development.  He shared with the audience that Central University of Jammu is always taking leading role in raising up the issues connected with the education of disadvantaged groups. He motivated the delegates of the seminar to work empirically on the various issues such as ‘Equality of Educational Opportunity for the Students of Disadvantaged Groups’, ‘Challenges in Higher Education’ and ‘Educational Opportunities for Differently Abled Students’  etc. and bring kudos to the Nation not only at National level but at World level.
