6th Meeting of the Academic Council on 08th November, 2015 at Central University of Jammu, Bagla (Rahya Suchani), District Samba, Jammu
Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Ashok Aima greeted the members of the Academic council and present his vision for the University to emerge as a Center for excellence.
Later he gave a synoptic overview on the achievement accomplished in term of infrastructure development and academic initiative taken by him from time to time.
He also highlighted new emerging programme for next academic session. The undermentioned items which got approved in the Acadmic council meeting includes choice based credit system (CBCS) as per UGC norms for all courses, Direct PhD programme for all the existing department and B.Voc(Retail Management & Travel Tourism). The decision was also taken on starting a Community college (Beauty & Wellness). The rectified evaluation pattern and question paper pattern was also got approved in the Academic Council. The following members were present in the meeting Prof. Devraj (Vice Chairman, UGC), Prof. Varun Sahni (JNU, New Delhi), Prof. Mohd. Mian (former Vice Chancellor, MANNU Hyderabad), Prof. Shiv Puri, Prof. Raj Nehru, Prof. B.L. Kalsotra, Prof. S.K. Khosa,Prof. Manoj Dhar, Sh. Jit Singh and Prof. Lokesh Verma. All Deans & Heads, Dr. G.K. Sehgal, Dr. Neena Gupta Vij, Dr. Bhavna Arora and Dr. Pavinder Singh were also present. The members advised that University should give importance to potential and emerging area of research which includes Earth and space science and Nanotechnology. All members appreciated the efforts of Prof. Ashok Aima Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu.
