Two–day national workshop on Intellectual Property Rights organised by the University Business Incubation Centre concluded at the Central University of Jammu. The two-day workshop was sponsored by sponsored by DC (MSME), M/O MSME, GOI under the scheme building awareness on Intellectual Property Rights for Micro, Small & Medium Enterprise (MSME) under National Manufacturing Competitiveness Programme (NMCP). The valedictory session of the workshop, was chaired by Prof. Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu, Patron of the workshop, Prof. Aima applauded the efforts of the UBIC and its members for creating this learning platform for the students/ scholars / faculty / researchers and entrepreneurs of the region. He further impressed upon the members to incubate the ideas of the budding entrepreneurs that is the ultimate goal of University Business Incubation Centre. Mr. Amit Sharma, MD, SIDCO, Chief Guest of the occasion, lauded the UBIC, Central University of Jammu for its initiatives towards fostering entrepreneurial spirit in the region. It is pertinent to mention that UBIC has signed an MOU with Ashray Incubator for providing financial and other technical support for incubates. Further, it has also signed MoU NASCOM Foundation which provides assistance under ten thousand start-ups in the country in IT sector. Eight technical sessions were conducted during these two days covering various aspects of IP registration. Panel discussion on Make in India was conducted by Mr Asif Ali and moderated by Prof S K Sharma in which Sh Annil Suri, CMD Tawi Electrodes, Sh Amit Sharma, MD, SIDCO and Sh I .P Singh, MD UFlex were the resource persons.

Earlier, Dr. Jaya Bhasin, Chairperson, University Business Incubation Centre (UBIC) welcomed the audience and apprised about workshop and presented the report of the two day workshop. Dr. Pankaj Mehta presented the formal vote of thanks during the valedictory session. The proceedings of the session were conducted by Ms. Anjali Pathania. The event was coordinated by Project Coordinators Dr. Jaya Bhasin, Dr. Pankaj Mehta, Dr Shahid Mushtaq and UBIC members including Gowhar Rasool, Asif Ali, Dr. Neelika Arora, Ranjeet Kumar Raman, Venkta Rammana Doddi, Pavan Kumar, Ms. Anjali Pathania, Mr. Varun Abrol, Mr. Rabinder Singh and Mr. Manjeet Singh.
Later during the day a session on Gender Sensitisation was organised by SPARSH in collaboration with Department of National Security Studies. Prof Malika Joseph spoke about gender sensitisation and Chairperson SPARSH Dr Jaya Bhasin apprised about the functioning of the apex body and University Complaints committee. Prof Ashok Aima, VC CUJ presided over the function. Ms Rupa Saa Acid Attack Survior, and President Awardee 2016 and Mr Alok Dixit Founder of CHHANV shared their experiences. . Mr Viren Satti proposed formal vote of thanks.
