CUJ organise Industrial Visit for the Students of Marketing and Supply Chain Management and HRM Depa

The Department of Marketing & Supply Chain Management and HRM Departments of Central University of Jammu organised an Industrial visit for the students at Safe-Express, Purmandal Morh, Ind-Swift Pharmaceuticals, and United Phosphorous Limited (UPL), Samba.
At Safexpress, Mr Neeraj Tikku- Regional Manager HP & J&K and his team explained the process of Logistics and Supply Chain process being followed at Jammu Warehouse. He informed the students that they offer a wide range of innovative supply chain services including Express Distribution, 3PL and Consulting. The firm provides value-added logistics services for 9 different business verticals ranging from Apparel & Lifestyle, E-commerce, Healthcare, Hi-Tech, Publishing to Automotive, Engineering & Electrical Hardware, FMCG & Consumer Electronics and Institutional.
Sh. Ramesh Bhardwaj, Sr. Manager – HR and Administration at Ind-Swift Laboratories welcomed the students and deputed Sh. Balbir Khajuria –Executive (HR & Admin), Sh Jatinder Singh Sr. Exeecutive (Safety) & Mr Ajay Singh- Jr. Engineer to co-ordinate the visit. During the round, they explained the whole process of manufacturing the APIs (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients). In the production department, Sh. Shyamveer Singh - Sr. Executive (Production) along with his team explained the various steps involved in the production of APIs and how they maintain temperature in the production unit. Later on they apprised the students that company has multi-location manufacturing sites for producing APIs where they comply with the stringent USFDA and other regulatory standards. The company has developed more than forty APIs but they are producing four of them at Jammu plant. They are the major exporters of APIs in more than fifty countries. The students also saw the various machines and equipment used in testing the quality of APIs produced at the plant. Students also raised their queries to clear their doubts about the HR and Supply chain process being followed by them. In the end, Sh. Ramesh Bhardwaj- (Sr. Manager-HR) also shared his experiences with the students. The host Company also provided refreshment to the students.

Later on, students visited UPL, India based MNC which has 27 plants across the world with 10 plants in India. UPL is the largest pesticide manufacturer in Asia and at Samba plant they manufacture fungicide, herbicide and insecticide.
Sh. Sanjeev Mishra- Manager (HR) and Sh. Ramgopal Sharma -Head Production, briefed the students about safety measures, plant layout from production, Quality Control Department to logistics, its achievements and vision in current economic scenario. Mr. Siddarth accompanied the students during the round and explained the whole process of production in detail.
According to Dr. Gaurav Sehgal- Head-MSCM, Central University of Jammu, the visit was organised with a tenacity to apprise the students with the industrial processes, besides enabling them to seek first-hand experience of the corporate life. The students were accompanied by, Dr. Naresh Sharma and Dr Anju Thapa and were coordinated by Dr. Naresh Sharma – Assistant Professor, Marketing & Supply Chain Management.
