It’s a matter of great pride for Central University of Jammu that two recently recruited faculty members in the varsity, Dr. Deepak Kumar, Dept. of Plant Science and Dr Pawan Kumar, Dept. of Nano Science and Materials received prestigious major research grants from Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Govt. of India, New Delhi under the Empowerment and Equity Opportunities for Excellence in Science Program - 2016.

Dr. Deepak Kumar who has Ph.D in the area of Plant Biotechnology along with several years of research experience and many publications in peer reviewed international journals was awarded this project to explore the mechanism of Calmodulin protein in Potato.

Dr. Pawan Kumar who did his Ph.D in the emerging field of Nanotechnology and has postdoctoral training from Hanyang University, South Korea with more than 30 publications in peer reviewed international journals of high impact to his credit, was awarded this project to develop novel sensing technique for organic pesticides using porous nanomaterials.

Prof. Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor of the Central University of Jammu, expressed his happiness over the achievement of faculty members and congratulated both the faculty members for their scientific achievement and wished them success in undertaking these projects in the University.
